Laptop upgrade

Hi! 

Just looking for advice on storage upgrades for my laptop. 

I have an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G line laptop, with an i7-4720hq, 960m, 8gb of ddr3, and a (slow as all hell) 5400 rpm 1 tb hard drive. 

I'm pretty sure it has an m.2 slot judging by disassembly vids on youtube.

that SSD may not work due to it being NVMe and most laptops not having NVMe slots, instead SATA

 

Something like a Crucial MX300 would work

This laptop DOES have an M.2 slot. 

I am not sure if it is PCIe based (NVME support) or SATA though. So going with the intel m.2 SSD might not give you much of a speed benefit over a slower M.2 SSD.

Thanks! yeah I'll definately be going with the mx300, however i'd like a 7200rpm hdd (maybe that's too much judging my budget.) and i've heard bad things about seagate hdd life spans.

Cheapest 2tb 7200rpm drive unfortunately cost 300
