Upgrading to hashwell?

I found a buyer for my z77 motherboard and 3570k. Is this a bad time to upgrade and should i wait for next gen? If i sell both things i can afford the 4670k, but then i still need a mobo.

Just kidding ;) I would personally deem it useless since Haswell only brings power consumption and 10% improvement :) Keep what you got and upgrade to Brodwell :)

Considering the fact that you already own a 3570K and a nice Z77 motherboard in my opinion there is absolutely no point of upgrading to Haswell, since the only real difference is the lowered power consumption and lets be realistic, it only matters for laptops and tablets. The Haswell performance per clock is increased slightly by 5-10% compared to Ivy, however the overclocking potential is lower. If you need to squeeze more performance out if the 3570K, just buy a better cooler (if you don't already have one) and overclock it more. A 4.5-4.7GHz overclocked 3570K is more than capable of handling any game out there even with a dual GPU configuration. In conclusion my advice is: don't bother upgrading, save your money and invest it in better hardware when you really need to upgrade!

There would not be a noticeable upgrade. Not worth spending more money for a little performance increase.
