Hey Guys! I want to ask if someone did an Powermod before?
With Liquid Metal and a high end GPU?
How did you do it and how "safe" is it?

For one, it's not very safe. You would be bypassing the current measuring system and the built in over current protection.

I agree. Defiantly don't attempt it. Not safe.

Since I am to lazy to put something interesting here, I will put everything, but slightly abbreviated. Here is everything:

It's very possible to do a power mod using liquid metal. der8auer has done this before for extreme overclocking of the Nvidia Titan X (Pascal), however for everyday use, it is not very safe whatsoever since you are bypassing a safety system built onto the card to prevent people from blowing them up.

Unless you know exactly what you are doing, do not do it. The GTX 1080 Ti is already massively powerful and doesn't need to be pushed further for 1440p. 1440p 100+ Hz, 4K, and 5K could use an overclock to get that extra performance, and it is still safe to overclock since the card has fail-safes to (again) prevent people from blowing them up so easily.

do NOT  do this with a high end card if you are doing it for the first time ever. chances of you burning up your card are massive.

if you want to get into this, i reccomend buying a secondhand cheapo low end card and just practise on that. do you destroy that card? well, atleast it won;t be a 1080Ti...
