Both cards are great. Go with whichever one you like best there isn't really a "better" card.

AGREEEEE. BUT make sure you check the temps, and which card is better in overclocking..

Just beware the Asus sag...

funny you should mention that i was planning to compensate on that by getting a coated wire and a led strip to hold the end by the backplate and suspend it from the top of the case :D similar to live theater catwalks

That's hard to do seeing as overclocking depends on the chip he gets anyways... And temps shouldn't be too much different. Both aftermarket cooler implementations are very well designed. Comes down to personal preference. And also to OP, look at the warranties, see which one is better for you.

Eh, I do the same with basic fishing wire off the power connectors. The backplate might scratch, or melt the wire.

Just beware the Asus sag...

I just checked out my DirectCUII 770, it has sag, but it's not bad at all. It's been sitting in there for 4 months now, and the sag isn't awful at all, my last card (A 560Ti was much worse)

I have the MSI 770, its an awesome card, mine (luckily) is quite a great OCer.

The asus card loos great, people always wax lyrical about the DCUII cooler. Let me just say that the MSI TF is very silent and very cool. On extreme in Unigine Valley my card didn't go over 69 deg. (With a sizeable OC and overvoltage)

Honestly get whichever one looks better for you, personally I was thinking about upgrading to Z87/Z97 next year and picking up an MSI G series board because the colours will just work so perfectly....

I'm the one who overclocks.

MSI no questions asked. It's cheaper. Mine personally never exceeds 61 degrees celcius in games and overclocked to 1306MHz.

Get the ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5. It has a custom PCB, better cooler, and it overclocks higher.

I've got the Asus 770, and it's just a BEAST! When i installed GPU Tweak i've put the overclocks to the max and it's stable! Getting 68.6 fps on average on Battlefield 4 :)

It is a beast, and i absolutely love it. It's the coolest that's for sure. However,  the card i have seems to bend in the slot. It works fine, but it doesn't sit straight. I've seen this issue on other forums as well.  As long as it works fine i don't mind, but most enthusiasts would hate this. Take a look.
