Workstation Build Help

I need some actual guidance here from people who know these are not going to be gaming PCs, so please refrain from your dank Asus ROG recommendations.

I do not have a definite budget, but I do need to keep it around $1300 and can work with a little more or less depending on its worth. I was thinking about doing Ryzen builds with a 1700 since we could use the threads, but the problem is we would like to keep a small form factor build like our current MATX builds that I did based around the Xeon 1231. There aren't too many MATX boards out currently or even in stock, but I can wait until some are back in stock. My issue is that I'm not familiar with AMD's CPU platform too much so I don't know what to look for when buying memory (if it needs to be certified to run at a certain speed for Ryzen or whatever for example). Also, if possible, I would like to do an ITX build and stick the PC on this mount for our desks: http://www.evodesk.com/options#cpu-mount

These PCs also need to have enough HDMI/DisplayPort/DVI outs for up to four monitors - we currently use 3 monitors each but we also sometimes run these to a big screen TV on the wall.

If you're curious, these will be development builds that need 16GB minimum of memory.

I still may end up opting for an Intel-based build again since it has way more stuff out currently and we may not even max out a 6 or 8 core CPU yet, and I could easily put something together in a small fractal case for what we wanna do with the desk mount.

Memory is memory is memory. Just buy it lol and make sure the GPU you have has 4 outputs/4 monitor support. Sometimes to get 4 monitors you have to daisy chain but no difference really. I would give it about 2-4 weeks for motherboards. So much hype around ryzen that everything is flying off shelves

if you want to be safe with memory i would go with corsair lpx memory because it is what all the reviewers used so they are already validated on all of the motherboards. if you want to look at what memory is validated on each motherboard you can look that up on the motherboard manufacturer's website.

I haven't seen many complain about ram running at default speed. All of the complaints I've seen(or at least remember) some from people wanting to run high speed kits.

Many have raised concerns of the RGB TridentZ failing after being used in certain boards. To be on the safe side, just look through the list of ram validated on the board your gonna buy. It should be quite a substantial list right now.

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case
