And is Vega going to be that good?

any game you cant play at the settings you want? yes? upgrade no? no reason to. Its not that hard, whats hard is choosing the upgrade

There are games i can't use absolute max settings like MSAA, but newer cards still struggle with that anyway like in GTA V.

I have a intel xeon cpu and a 1070 i hope this makes you salty.

Not really no but there are games coming and some out now that my 780 will cry trying to run like Deus Ex.

no it wont, just lower the settings to medium. If you dont have a 144hz monitor dont worry. 60fps is fine. Cap all of your games except your competive ones.

I just upgraded from a 770 to a 1070 and the difference was night and day. I went from a 43% range score to a 83% range score in fire strike with the same CPU. I believe the 780 is effectively 20% faster than the 770. Hope that helps.

I don't play FireStrike though since i can't control anything in game.

yes, i agree with this, but my point is, me being a casual gamer who likes low settings and high framerates this 760 is perfect, but do you really need to upgrade so soon. Look at vega and decide then!

if he wants to max games at 1080 then these two are perfect for current and possibly future games at that res.

Hold up. Who in the world needs a 1080ti for 1080p gaming when the 1070 runs 1080p games at 144hz+ in most cases? A 700$ enthusiast grade card is over kill. Not to mention his CPU starts to be a bottleneck assuming it is of the same era as the 780.

That's one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever seen on here.  You sure you don't want to recommend 3-way 1080 Ti SLI?

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

I upgraded from a 780 to a 1080 not that long ago and I found a lot of newer games performed fairly similarly (particularly games like battlefield 1 and gta v) due to CPU limitation. You'll get higher max fps but the averages and dips are comparable.

That was with an i5 3570k at 4.6GHz and 1440p res, but I wouldn't be expecting a performance boost across the board.
