How much power do LED Strips actually use?

I recently installed 2 30cm RGB LED strips in my PC case and was wondering, how much power do they actually use?

This is of course assuming all LED strips are equal.

Depends on the strips you're buying. But since they're rather short strips, I would generally expect each of them to draw less than a watt.

I think 18 there are 18 per strip

Assuming they use 12V (you can check this, it should be written on the controller box), one 5050 RGB LED should use something like 0.2w and 0.02A.  That is 9W and 0.72A for all 36 LEDs (if I'm correct)
