Professional Looking powerful laptop

I have a friend that travels a lot for bussiness, and loves gaming. He has a rig at home, but spends too much time away to really enjoy it. Its not possible to take an ITX pc with him and he said he would like to be able to game when hes on the go. The issue is that anything with a GPU worth a damn these days has more lights and symbols on it than an ambulance. He wants something that looks professional but can run AAA games on high at 1080p. Price isn't an issue.

He said he likes it. Do you know how loud/quiet it is? He said it would have to be nearly silent at idle and preferably quiet at load. Doesn't want a small helicopter in a confrence room.

sadly, any thin and light gets LOUD at load.  if you undervolted a bit it would be fine at  idle  but it goes high (60 decibels) at  load, not undervolted

Another option is to just Skin the Laptop into a certain color or something. This means you will now have the option to pick every laptop. Rather than just a high performing, professional looking laptop.

most  "gaming" laptops looks too edgy for professional use.

Personally, I really like the series of laptop that I got for that same purpose (Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition). Also was comparably cheap considering the prices others were charging for the same specs (Saved $150 over the others, $700 vs $850 for the 860m when it was still the newest one.).

The red back-light really isn't that prominent, and actually doesn't even look that out of place in a business environment. If you really don't like it, there's a function key to disable it.

He could also get the 960m version for a little cheaper, and a slightly better logo placement in my honest opinion.

I was going to recommend Puget Systems but it appears they no longer make laptops.

^ basically like a GS63VR without the ugly branding. Looks just like a black alumnimum laptop with the backlight turned off. This is the ONLY place where they will offer to liquid metal it for you so it reduces temps and fan noise. Only reason to pass this over for the Aero 14 is for battery life. GS63VR is better every other way.

^ your first laptop but with liquid metal option. I'd recommend it if you want the lowest possible temps and acoustics. There are a few things I'd change as well in the config.

^ your best options. it's better than everything else. GS63VR is the best thin 1060 laptop. And the P650RS is the best 15in 1070 reasonably thin laptop. feel free to tag me to debunk any other recommendations. There are way too many bad laptops.

Are there any alternatives to hid in the uk? And if I can do the liquid metal thermal paste myself do I still need a company like hid?

If u can do it ur self u wouldn't ask LOL. It's not a hard thing to do, but u actually do void ur warranty unless ur with HID. Most techs can't tell you did liquid metal but officially ur warranty is void. I can do liquid metal myself and I don't go with HID. It's just easier because it comes predone and warranty intact.
