Why so many google chromes in task manger, and LAN driver.

minimoose

Why do I have like five Google Chromes is my task manger, when I have one screen open?  Also does having the LAN driver for the MoBo actually do anything?

You have 5 tabs open. Also, the LAN driver is for, well, the LAN. Networking.

I have one tab open, my motherboard has internet without a driver, will it help my speeds?

Well, I haven't the slightest idea about the Google Chrome, and no. The OS is probably using a generic driver.

I'm gonna get Chrome real quick and see what happens.

I ran Chrome and looked in task manager. I had about 5-6 Chrome separate sessions running according to Task Manager.

I have one tab open

It is extensions/plugins, right click the blank space next to the new tab button and select Task Manager or hit Shift+Esc and it will tell you what each process is for.

No browser is officially "better." It comes down to preference. But certain facts cannot be denied - namely that Chrome is faster(than say something like Firefox) and potentially more secure because each tab is sandboxed.

I said "potentially." Tracking occurs whether you like it or not on anything you use. Even without a browser, tracking is still occurring.

OK, I will try it, by 110% do you mean you did things to make it faster?  What are they?

Google Chrome runs like that. One is like for flash etc and then it has many for one tab to make sure your data and stuff is secure in that tab also if one tab freezes it doesnt effect another tab you have open. Takes up more ram ik but its worth it kinda...

It's simple, Chrome opens a separate process of itself for every time you open a new tab. It's an easy way to provide sand-boxing, at cost of your memory and reduce system performance, as the OS scheduling will need to process each well, Chrome process, one by one to update their need and see if it's responding or not.

Here is the thing, Chrome is, in my opinion, a great web browser, super fast, but poorly designed, and lacks features that even IE supports.
