Short cargo pants? Wasn't that one of the major reason why scissors were invented?

I have a feeling this is what OP meant.

Amazon.com: CAMOFOXIN Men's Hiking Pants Outdoor Convertible Quick Dry Fishing Pants & Shorts (Khaki, 34W X 34L) : Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry

Zippers are much less permanent than scissors and don't leave loose threads to tear.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

You don't know how to hem a pair of pants? A few tack stitches is all that you need and they do make a type of basting tape that allows one to make a hem without knowing how to sew.

But, I do agree convertible pants are a lot more convenient, but BE BRAVE and make an noticeable appearance!

I also have some questions about the cargo pants. What kind of material can we expect to see? I know that cargos come in a lot of different fabrics. I'd love to see a durable and more comfortable (sweats style) option. Those 2 would be really good to see for me at least.

I use king gee quantum ones as they stretch and they have pockets in the knees for the foam pads which are quite nice to have

I would love to see them do shorts version tho for the summer

Assume they'll be the same as the cargo shorts, which are bloody comfortable. I bought a bunch for work.
