Asus, because Gigabyte has retarded warranty terms.

Currently have the Z87-A and it is great. AI Suite 3 is useful and doesn't have bugs so far and their technical support is great.

What If I dont plan on doing SLI at all. Should I just go with this

ASUS Z87-K DDR3 1600 LGA 1150 Motherboard

to save as much oney as possible

if you want to save money I'd recommend looking at AMD as they are very bare bones for the minimal user, will get you through the door.

It has less features like not having DTS Connect, Optical out, less usb ports, and a 4 phase instead of the 8 phase on the Z87-A. So if you are planning to overclock, the Z87-A is a better choice imo.

press customize table and uncheck all motherboards except these two to see the differences.

I don't plan to overclock or SLI just normal gaming but I do want to be able to max out my graphics just not OC and I am trying to keep it as cheap as possible as this will be my first PC build ever. I plan on staying with the 4th gen i5 and the gtx760 unless the gtx660 gives almost the same performance. Can anybody help me here. I do not wan t to SLI or overclock and I want to keep this build around the $1000 range.

I love both brands, but it says it all when I tell you that in my two systems both the boards are ASUS.

I built a budget system for a mate with a GIGABYTE board and it has been super solid though.
