Format a locked USB

Hi!

 

I've recently found a USB Stick of mine that somehow got locked up 3 years ago on my old PC.

 

It's a SanDisk Cruzer Blade 16GB

 

I tried to plug it in but when I do so, the file explorer freezes(so does disk managment tool and etc..)

Also, it doesn't show that status bar under the device name nor does it show the usb name in file explorer...

 

Is there any way to force format it via Windows, Android Smartphone(got a OTG cable) or Linux?

i would try using Rufus to wright FreeDOS to it and then formating it, thats worked to bring sevral deeply messed up USB sticks back to life!

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Okay, so I've tried running Rufus while the USB was plugged in and It wouldn't open...I cliked Run as Admin but Rufus didn't show up...but right as I unplugged the usb...Rufus showed up...literally not even a second after the unplug it showed up. Tried it 3 times and it was the same. Same thing with Windows's file explorer...when I plug the USB it instantly becomes unresponsive...(Not responding) pops up

huh well try starting Rufus first and then plugging it in?
