Keyboard not working, cant finish OS install

Jz1

I just built my mate a new system the specs are:

i5 7500 + AsRock B250m Pro4

Now we have identified what the issue is, we thought the windows install was freezing but its indeed the keyboard not working during the installation process.

Are there any work arounds besides using a PS2 Adapter?

PS: I dont think the motherboard comes with pre installed USB drivers and the case is a 270R for those who want to know

OS is irrelevant but its Win7

Have you tried

- different keyboard

- different USB port

- reset CMOS (worth a go)

There should be a blue button in the Install window in the bottom left corner. It should open an "Ease of Access" window where you can enable an On-Screen Keyboard

7th gen processors can't use windows 7 or 8, only windows 10. (according to Intel and Microsoft)
