I think Ryzen is totally worth it BUT the 1700 performs almost as well as the 1800x for a 200~ dollar diference. Gamers Nexus for reference:

CPU only has 16, there is 8 on the X370 chipset. Total combined is 24. CPUs are 3.0, chipsets are 2.0
