Motherboard for a 6700k/7700k and 1080 or 1080ti build

I've been wondering if my asus z170 pro gaming would be enough for the 6700k and a gtx 1080. Also i've been thinking of getting the new 1080ti but the thing is that i am not certainly sure if my motherboard is good enough for that. Since the new graphics card is a killer.  Mind helping me out ? :)

Thanks.

yep, although that mobo may need a bios update for the 7700k it should be fine

Nope. Lots of people run gaming systems on cheapo mobos. Dont expect the best OC on a cheap motherboard.

nah, it's good. You can even get the lowest-tier z170/270 and it's will still be fine, altrough you don't get many mobo features :)

Don't bother with a Z series board and k- series cpu, get a h270 + 7700 (non k) and use the money saved towards a 1080ti

Thats people overclocking them, they get F.HOT at 5ghz, 240mm AIO cooler should keep that in check

Is it a good brand? How old is it? Generally speaking a good 550w PSU is good enough for a modern PC, provided it isnt using multi GPU

Nope, as long as it is PCIE Gen 3 it will be fine - Just make sure it's compatible with the CPU you choose

Ninja will be fine as you should be getting the non-overclock 7700 who's temps arent quite as extreme
