New LTT video request

I would like to request a video, if possible:

 

Comparison of 2 memory modules vs 4 memory modules on a Dual channel system. Results should show:

 

-- Heat

-- Overclocking

-- Power usage

-- Frame rates of games

Pretty much that ^^ no need to waste time on a video, all the benchmarks are on the internet already.

Just a note incase people get confused, twice as much power would be used by the RAM slots, not twice as much power usage by the system.

you only get a 0fps if you have to much RAM eg. 32 and 64 GB, but if you have 1/2GB going to 4GB or 8GB will boost fps, in some games

yeah. but a bit of common sense would let you know that that is a given. Ofcourse if the amount of ram gigs is the bottleneck of your system, you would see a bump in fps when you expand the size. but if you dont fill up the ram, you wouldn't see a fps increase.

oh I know that that's common sense, but it seams like this thread needed that being said, just to make sure the OP understood the full answer, sorry if you felt a tad offended by me pointing out the obvious there, but I felt it might be necessity for it to be said so the OP understood :P

I guess I should rephrase my question a liitle.  

 

Specifically I am looking for a 2 x 4gb vs 4 x 2gb comparison.

 

Total ram in both scenarios is 8 gb.  Ram speed would be the same between the 2 scenarios as well.

 

I understand that the answer may be obvious but would like to get a more research about this.

unless it's a quad channel setup there would be no advantage,

 

the processor will still only address 2 sticks at a time (dual channel) 64 bit bus per dim and only send the data at the set frequency.

the second set of dims would share the bus and frequency with the first set, so there would be no room for a gain.
