Titian x Pascal + Ryzen 7 1700

NameDoesNotFi

SO my faraway cousin from another country sent me a Titian x Pascal gpu as a graduation gift, I have never build a pc in my life and I had been only playing League of Legend + some online games in low settings on my grandma's Hp laptop, in the past few years .  He then encrouged me to build a pc myself with this card.  I MEAN,,,,WHATTTTT?  So this two weeks I had been looking and searching at different pc parts and rig stuff, I am wondering if R7 1700 can handle this card...?  Or I can sell this card and buy a used 980ti hybird Sli from my friend.

Do not buy two 980 tis in sli, if you want you could sell it and get 1080 ti but the titan xp is enough for whatever you're playing. The ryzen 1700 is very good if you overclock it, and will eventually be better than an i7 in gaming in the coming years when more cores become utilized.

The Ryzen chips are going through Growing pains right now, which is typical with new technology as things get fleshed out. This usually takes 3-6 months minimum. You should pair this Titan X(P) with a 7700k to get the most performance out of it for gaming.

I also would not go for the 980 Ti SLI. Heck, you could sell that Titan XP, and for the money you sold it for, buy 980 Ti SLI and probably still have money left over...980 Tis used are around $300-400.

If you wanted to strictly game now, I would go for a 7700K. If you want to game and stream, go for the 1700.

That being said, I'm not sure how much performance the Ryzen chips have to offer if they get patched...however long that may take.

Case and peripherals at your like, get a 1440p monitor and you are set, you will still spend a thousand bucks on everything but it is worth it, this "combo" is very overpowered, if you have more cash to throw at this though go with unlocked 7700k and z270 with some neat cooler.

Should be able to handle it fine.

Don't bother with 980tis, I'd still sell off the titan x pascal, but then buy a GTX 1080ti or two 1080s and put them in SLI if it falls within budget. (1080ti is a better option imo)

Edit: I know the 1080ti isn't out yet, but it should be pretty soon.

Keep your Titan XP, after all it was a gift... don't insult them. That being said that Titan XP is better than an SLI setup as SLI has problems scaling well in some games. Also the 1080ti is based on the Titan XP, just a more consumer/gaming oriented card the 1080ti is.
