Instagram Account Hacked?

Hello,

My personal instagram was recently hacked.  I cannot get into it whatsoever-the email linked to it has been changed, as well as the username and password.  I have recently contacted Instagram support-I sent them all of the necessary information including the email I used to sign up with it.  They said that the email I gave them was not the one used to sign up with it, despite it being the one I used.  It might have not been verified to the account, but I am positive I used it to sign up.  I sent them an email explaining what had happened after they said they couldn't do anything until I gave them the email, but I had already given it to them.  This is the email that the person had reassigned it to.  Any way I can find out the exact address or get back into the account?  To be clear-my intentions are to contact them and see if I can get the account back.  I do not wish to find out who this person is whatsoever.  No other device is logged into the account.

I did that-they haven't read it.  They aren't posting anything, they just have control of it.

the only legal route you can take is by trying to find the email you used to verify your account with. ask the instagram contact if he needs the email that was first verified or the email you first entered because that can make a difference.

As far as I know, It would be really tough to find out the email address. Unless Instagram gives it to you. Did you just get to a complete dead end with Instagram help?

Ok-they haven't responded yet, so I'll keep this in mind.

Not yet-I explained to them that I never verified the email I used to sign up with(they haven't responded yet), but it was linked to the account.  I remember that I reset my password once and it sent it to that email-the one I told them I signed up with.  The hacker changed it so I can't do anything about that as far as I know.

 @tlink @xDylanio @Chewique I have proof that that was my account.  They send me an email with a verification code, saying an unauthorized person had logged into that account.  They changed the account name from the one listed on the email, but I am positive they have the previous usernames in their records.
