What is the best value iPhone right now?

Xanthe_2871

Hi, I'm getting a free line on my T-Mobile account and I'd like to make it an iPhone. I've never owned an iPhone so it would be nice to get one and teach myself how they work.

I'd like one that runs the newest iOS (I think that's 10, right?) and I want the best value. I'd like to spend around $200 but I will spend more if it's a better value. I need to balance price and how long it will run the newest OS.

The iPhone 5 is pretty cheap used on eBay but I don't know how much longer it will be up to date. The iPhone 7 will be up to date for a long time but it will cost an arm and a leg... For a second phone that I'll use only to familiarize myself with iOS, what's the best value? I'll spend more than $200 if it's a better value but I don't want to spend a ton...

P.S: How much storage do I need at a minimum? I hear the 16 GB iPhones are almost unusable, so what's a good minimum storage size? I don't need a ton since this will be a second phone for me.

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special-_-

iPhone SE. They are pretty much a 6s that hides inside a smaller body.

I bought it a month ago.

I think it will not be obsolete for at least 4-5 years.

16GB is merely enough, I bought a 64GB one.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Thank you so much @gtx1060=value, @RadiatingLight, @ARikozuM, and @mrchow19910319. I appreciate it! I just got an iPhone SE 64 GB on eBay. I can't wait to learn iOS :) I paid ~$250 for a used SE in B+ condition. Unlocked for GSM. No iCloud lock or other BS. Hopefully that was a fair price, using the eBay completed listings search showed these iPhones go all over the place in price.
