It is a new architecture by AMD competing with the highest end Intel CPUs. The mid range and low end CPUs will come later.

Ryzen is AMD's re-entry into the high end CPU market. It's cheap, offers a lot of cores for the money, and from what we've seen from AMD, has an IPC similar to Broadwell-E.

With OC, you could maybe even hit 6700k-tier single thread performance, but that is just rumors.

idk

Hey guys,

I am hearing good things about the new Ryzen but I don't really understand what is the big difference or what the Ryzen means for gaming or other things so I hoped that you could help me and explain to me that whole Ryzen thing.

Thank you :)

Ryzen is just AMD's name for their new CPUS like AMD Ryzen 1800x

Ryzen 7 is relevant to those who benefit from heavy multi-core tasking, or who would like to while keeping costs low.

Ryzen is the beginning of the end of Man kind.

The prediction side things is a little more vague. AMD calls it Scary Smart Prediction with an AI controlled decision-making process for execution. There isn’t much to say about this feature other than it sounds interesting but doesn’t map to any of the details SemiAccurate has heard about the Zen core. When AMD connects the dots fully, we will bring it to you. Since most predictors are well into the 99%+ range already, we are talking small differences but with tens to hundreds of cycles penalty for a miss, fractions of a percent matter. Time will again tell.

AMD's Scary Smart Prediction, combined with Microsoft's Cortana will combine to create Skynet. It won't be long before the machines are Ryzen.
