Xeon and non EEC RAM?

Go to solution Solved by EPPHO,

If it's supported by motherboard then yeah.

I'm running non-ECC DDR4 RAM with my x5680 right now. If the motherboard supports it, ECC is NOT a requirement for Xeon.

Just tried on pcpartpicker, and apparently no.

I added two Xeon E5-2620 v4s and 2x 4x16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4-3000 to a build, then when I went to add a motherboard, it showed none as being compatible.

What motherboard though. And I doubt PCPartPicker would account for a Xeon in desktop board anyway when considering RAM.
