Hello everybody! I want to change my ip address, but I am having a little bit of a difficult time doing this. For my internet setup, I have xfinity internet, and xfinity router, as well as for my computer I use a usb wifi adapter. I have tried the obvious restarting my router, but that didn't work. Thank you for helping!

You have a modem router combo. So there are only two ways you might change it. One call up Comcast and ask. Dont really expect anything because they are stupid idiots most of the time. As you can tell, I have the same ISP. The second option is to disconnect your modem router from the internet until the lease expires for that IP address. Because as you stated above, IP addresses are assigned based on mac addresses. If you had a separate modem and router, you could use the clone mac address feature in the router, to change the mac address connected to the modem. After a modem restart you should pull a new IP address from the DHCP server.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I am trying to change my ip address that would be seen by a website. So I think that's mac address?

MAC addresses are locally significant and only go so far as to the next hop (device) in a network. Websites see your IPv4 and/or IPv6 address depending on how you're connected to the internet. ISPs however bind IPs to MAC addresses and you can either unplug as @Donut417 suggested and wait the lease timeout, which is usually 1 to several days, or you can try to spoof the MAC address presented by the modem/router to the ISP.
