Hi,

I'm just working on a project where I wanted to see if I could use 2 NICs in my PC and essentially "convert" a normal internet connection into one that is protected by a VPN.

At the moment I have a machine which has 2 network cards and has PIA VPN installed on it. But I can't figure out how to connect the two so that one card has internet coming in and the other have a VPN protected internet going out. I've tried bridging the 2 together but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

I was just trying something like this out as it would be something I would be interested in trying out at somewhere like a hotel where I could have my other device connected through one VPN protected PC.

I've found plenty of tutorials on how to do it (very easily) over WiFi but I'm trying to do it over a second ethernet card which I can't seem to figure out.

If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

p.s I'm running Windows Server 2012 R2, and am after a software solution not an "Install pfsense" solution.

Just now, Electronics Wizardy said:

what os? You can normally bridge the virtual network adapter that the vpn makes with the second network card.

But if you want to share a vpn, you might as well do it on your router.

Thanks for your reply, I'm running Windows Server 2012 R2, I tried selecting the 2 network interfaces and bridged them but even when I connected the main machine to the VPN via the client, the other machines connected to it were just bypassing the VPN for some reason.
