Hey guys so i starting a build for my daughter and i been upgrading my build and putting aside the parts off mine for hers everything was a few months old.

I have the ausu code z270 Mobo with my i5 6600k. Looking to get an i7. Is it worth the price/performance differences around $50 to get the 6700k or the 7700k. I was told at micro center the 7700ks are not running at 100% cuz the need for special memory or octane.

Thanks for any input

the 7700k is essentially a faster clocked 6700k with some added features like octane support and some 4k blueray and Netflix support. me personally i don't care about those extra features and would get the 6700k if the 7700k is that much more expensive. if it was closer like 20 bucks then maybe but 50 seems like to much of a price hike to me.

Well you could either stay with that CPU for yourself and just add something cheaper for your daughter!

i'd get 6700k since the 7700k has thermal problems, like 20ºC more under load compared to 6700k... And wait ryzen to get released so intel should cheap prices

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...

PC Specs                   PCPartpicker full performance builds (from350$-1250$)
