hi everyone

my first build and i have lots of questions.

but here are the basics first

Budget & Location: Anywhere from 1,000-1500 depending on what im getting out of the pc. Im located in Orlando fl, usa .

Aim: Mostly looking for a gaming pc. However i do some video editing and photo editing nothing crazy just hobbyist stuff.

Monitors: Just one for now but I would like the option of adding another in the future

Peripherals: uhhh does this include braided cables cuz i def want those

Why are you upgrading? mainly looking for more power in my games and im sick of playing with my graphics settings on my 960m trying to get the right balance between frames and graphics.

few questions i also have

im avoiding water cooled as a first build just cuz i dont want to make my first build so complicated however if you u guys suggest its not so hard ill give a shot

next question is the a cool case on the market that feature glass panels like the corsair crystal 460x but with a mother board 90 degrees up ...i like the idea of having braided cables draping down like some type of predator pc lol, but i love the all glass design from the corsair ...

i think thats all my questions

thanks for any and all help

ps i have taken apart pc's before and put them back together.. so im not a total noob but none the less treat me like one so i can learn more.

really?! i was going for an intel build. i did hear about it maybe i should look more into it. this has been i long time coming too so im eager to get started

It's coming out in a week so just hold out for a bit longer. If what AMD claims is remotely true, Ryzen will excel at multi-threaded applications (video and photo editing) over similarly priced Intel counterparts. I'd keep an eye out for the R7 1700X.

But wait for third-party benchmarks/reviews because there's always a chance that it may be absolutely terrible or underwhelming.

its hell of a lot better than a i5 especially the 6 core 12 thread version.

Let's see the benchmarks and reviews first before stating it as a fact.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list If you're interested i made this Kaby Lake build for my friend and it destroys all games and he also streams with really good performance. It's mini ITX though, but you save a bit of money for not taking a case with a bunch of tempered glass (you can get a Fractal design define nano s if you don't like the Manta) Problem is it's a bit over your budget and i don't know if you have a keyboard and mouse for gaming. Also i suggest getting a 1440p monitor for this build when you got the money. If you really wanna go with Intel then this is the shit, but i suggested that you wait for Ryzen. You should put the NZXT Hue+ in this build so you can fully utilize those fans and that cooler kand you always need some bling in your case)

CPU Intel Core-I5 6600K OC to 4.4GHz MOBO MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon RAM 16GB Kingston HyperX Savage DDR4-2400MHz GPU Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1 Gaming 6GB

Cooler Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo PSU Corsair RM650x 650W Boot drive Kingston v300 120GB SSD Storage WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm HDD Case Corsair Carbide Spec-03

Extra NZXT Hue+ LED light controller + 2xNZXT Aer 120mm RGB fans

Just wait for Ryzen. If you are given the opportunity to get i7-6900k performance at the price of a 7700k, wait. Also... At $1500, even with keyboard, mouse and monitor a GTX 1070 should be the minimum. Make a post on March 2nd.

i7-6700k  Cooling: Deepcool Captain 240EX White GPU: GTX 1080Ti EVGA FTW3 Mobo: AsRock Z170 Extreme4 Case: Phanteks P400s TG Special Black/White PSU: EVGA 850w GQ Ram: 64GB (3200Mhz 16x4 Corsair Vengeance RGB) Storage 1x 1TB Seagate Barracuda 240GBSandisk SSDPlus, 480GB OCZ Trion 150, 1TB Crucial NVMe
