Ok so I have an old laptop that I turned into an ubuntu plex server. I am also building a desk for my oversized gaming computer and I thought to myself "hey what if I built in a slot that I could just slide my laptop into along with all the external drives and stuff but yet still have easy accisibility to when everything goes wrong". But then I thought "wait everytime I have to transcode in plex it pegs the CPU to the point where with the lid closed and in the drawer of my current desk it ends up throttling". My question to you guys is how do I keep it from overheating while still keeping it passively cooled and out of the way but still accessible...

myself i have a laptop as my windows server with plex and i just have it outside doing passive cooling but if you are going to do a cabinet then add some fans and see if you can wire it up to a usb cord and connect it to your laptop so when you turn on your laptop it turns on to have more of a active cooling
