Literally all I want is a MBP 13" with 16GB of RAM and the middle-road CPU right now. Windows and Linux are irritating the piss out of me and it'd be nice to use FCPX and not the random bugfest that is Premiere.

LULUL. I think os x is good. But it is getting a bit buggy now, especially in sierra. I personally prefer the 2015 15inch one. 16 GB of ram, i7 quad core, and all the ports and a familiar keyboard.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

From what I've heard Sierra is especially quirky with the TouchBar models. If it weren't for the TouchBar having better specs in the end (at least I think it does) I'd just go for the baseline 13" because my current laptop only has 2 USB ports and I'm fine with that like 99% of the time (and if I need more I always have the dock which adds like an extra 8 ports).

I see... depends on my workflow, 8GB of ram sometimes is not enough.

8GB of RAM for me on Windows is never enough, and given that OS X hits it a little harder (at least in my experience) I feel going for 8GB would be a bad idea.

I remembered someone said that os x handles ram differently than windows. In windows if you have less than 1GB(?cant be sure) of empty ram, the system will give you a warning and it will slow your system. osx does not have this problem. Your ram usage can be full and system will behave normally as it should. But I have occasionally run into scenarios that because of too many chrome tabs opened, as well as sublime text , terminal, pdf viewer and photoshop in the background the systems feels sluggish.

As I recall OSX caches? a lot of it, whereas Windows will just use as much RAM as it can before it decides to hammer swap which is when you really notice you're running low (unless you have an SSD).

Let me put my tin foil hat on and say that apple is sponsoring him.......................

I don't know about youtube, but in movies and tv shows every brand you can identify, are sponsors of the show.

Companies like apple samsung are all over the place.

Quick question, sorry for digging that post up. Is there actually any proof that Apple actually paid for a product placement in a movie or TV show? I know there are plenty but it seems that they are not paid. The reason I'm asking is I was researching that a few weeks back for a school project and hadn't been able to find any example where Apple paid for a product placement or directly sponsored a movie/show. Thanks!

Apple won't tell you "Hey! We sponsored this show. Look out for our products. " Cos that will make the audience do the opposite.

As long as you can see their logo, they sponsored the show. At least that's what I thought. I can't prove it to you/I don't have any proof.

I think that without apple's approval, you can't show their logo on your movie. tv shows.

It may work like this (this is just me speculating) they provide the products of theirs, iphones, macs and etc. They may even donate money to the show. But, they will have some sort of control when their product shows up, how they are showed up. "For example, bad guys / criminals/ rapist can't use our product in your show, it will damage the image of our company. "

Look at house of cards and billions. A lot of apple products have been seen through out the series.  In the show house of cards, all the government people equipped are apple's hardware. In billions, bobby axelrod and all those hedge funds billionaires are using iphones and macs. Those super important government people, people from really high places like chuck rhoades are using iphones and macs. While other not so important roles are using samsungs. It seems that only people have higher social status all using iphones while others using samsungs. Do you think that is just a coincidence? I think not. I think apple paid top prices to make sure that only a certain type of people in the show will have iphones. It is a brilliant marketing technique.

Here are a few examples : the director don't randomly put up a phone and let their actor use it. All the phone companies need to fight/bid for a chance of showing their phone in front of millions of people.

I don't think what you're saying is true. Brands like Sony pay much bigger sums to place a product placement in a TV show or movie. It can't just be that Apple provides the product to them, because that's like 700$ for a phone and 2000$ for a computer. If they are however paying to make their brand visible, it has to be disclosed - which it's not in any of the shows.

Haha sorry don't worry. I meant the other guy got his facts wrong...

I watched quite a few reviews and multiple people mentioned their iPhone 7's dying in water after extended exposure. I don't have anything against the iPhone 7. I actually really like it. I just thought it was weird for linus who is such a big android fan. Also, my question was more about the watch. I think the iPhone 7 is great, the watch not so much.

It always feels nice to talk reasonably. I wish this forum had more people like you.

I used to join the apple hate train too. But after a while it becomes boring.

They did A I said I want B. They did B I said I want C.

It doesn't do any good.

Thanks for the reply though.
