gtx 280 problem

hi so i bought a gtx 280 for 10 euros to replace my completly dying gts 250 and the card seems like its stuttering even at a game like league of legends i get fps drops to 15 fps  my specs are c2q q8400 mobo ga-p31-es3g 4gb of ram and a 120gb  ssd any suggestions ? (atm im replacing the cooler to a better one )

try to save up because you are buying old and dying cards

it will be cheaper if you dont grind it

Instead of circling around the same PC which is really old, why don't you try getting a new one?

Usage and temps? Maybe it is dying already hence that cheap

The GTX 280 is a power hungry card. Assuming the card is still alive, what PSU are you using?

Yeah I would get a new one with an Intel Pentium g4560  which is about $57 euros a cheap gigabyte H110-M S2H which is about $61 euros which is about motherboard with 8gb of 2133mhz ddr4 ram in Australia you can pick it up for about $80 which in euros would be about $57. for your GPU you could get an RX 460 which in euros is about $136 euros or if you just want to play games like league of legends. then you should just get a gtx 660.A 1tb HDD which is only about $69 AUD which in euros would be about $49 euros. and to power everything you can get a 550w PSU for about $47 euros

OP spent 10 euros on a video card. Something tells me that OP doesn't have the capability to multiply the upgrade budget many times over. 

 

Replacing the thermal paste on the GPU would be a good start, especially if the stuff is original. Also, what temps is the cpu hitting?
