r9 or hd?

should i get a new r9 270x with 2gb ram, 1100mhz gpu and 5800mhz m.clock, or the hd7950 with 3gb ram, 800gpu and 5000mhz m.clock.is it just the 384 bit on the 7950 that makes it better??

this happens on these forums all the time! deviation from question to a higher spec card.it is a better card but ive got a choice between them two.

Out of those to the 7950 is a better option, if you can afford it get the 7970

No it's not because of the 384 bit bus (entirely), it's because the 7950 has more stream processors in it.

Its not always about the clocks . The HD 7950 is a better card out of those 2 , but if you can , save a little for a HD 7970 . It'll be worth the money .

The 7950 has 1792 Stream Processors while the R9 270X has 1280 Stream processors

The R9-270X is essentially a factory overclocked HD 7870.

It uses the same Core, and same amount of Stream Processors / ROP / spec-wise, it's exactly the same...other than the clock speeds.

The HD 7950 is well...a tier up from the HD 7870.
