1Gbps Powerline Vs 802.11ac - What's better for Steam in home Streaming

Hi all,

My current set up:
Host -> WiFi -> Router -> WiFi -> Macbook

Gaming at 1080p/60fps on 802.11ac is pretty good with the occasional stutter. Running Ethernet isn't the easiest choice right now so I'm considering Powerline adapters.
The thing is, I want to create a direct connection instead of going through the router for a better streaming experience. House is fairly new, built in 2005 so wiring should be good.

Has anyone had experience between 802.11ac and 1Gbps powerline adapters for in home steaming?

Powerline isn't gonna be 1gbps, but it will be more consistent than wifi.

Yeah I'm aware of that, but should give enough throughput to stream 1080p. I'm wondering if a direct connection through Powerline will give a notable difference in latency.

Powerlines were never made to carry that kind of signal. I can't guarantee you anything.

Your best option would be to run a cheap $20 ethernet cable across your ceiling from your router to your PC.
