Its the same as your system input/recording level. Just try dropping it to .65 maybe, also when you click to start monitoring what are you peaking at? should be around -12

So I just got this new microphone the neewer NW 700 and I figured out later that it needs a power supply. So I bought one that's 48 volts. And it works fine. But when I plugged it into my laptop. The sound quality is just horrible. It's as bad as my built in microphone in my headphones. Now I seen another youtuber that used this Microphone and his quality sounds way better. Now i dont have my desktop to try it out on right now. But the way things are connected: xlr cable from mic to psu, and xlr to 3.5mm cable from psu to laptop (3.5mm is in laptop btw)

It's echoy but I doubt that any room is that echoy, I assume your monitoring through headphones, so it's not just a latent echo from your speakers being picked up by the mic. What software are you using to record and how far from the mic are you. It could be the laptop because you are relying on it's built in pre amp to handle the audio and it might not be able to drive it. Are you using windows 10, I remember windows 7 giving me similar issues. Could you just turn down the line in level.

Why do you always die right after I fix you?
