What powerbank are we talking about first, most will not be able to sustain the laptop at load due to the power consumption.

Just a regular 25800 mAh powerbank: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01K6TA748/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487323081&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=anker&psc=1

It's a bit overpriced compared to other brands

This is the one Dell shows under their accessories https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0ZX3745868 it cost 103$ and the DC out can do 19.5V 2.3A that equals 44.85W

The anker you are looking at can do 18w.

This one should be the same, but only 89$

https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Power-Companion-18000-WCKF2/dp/B00PC9HG0Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487341814&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+powerbank

None of them can charge your laptop up if you put the CPU and GPU under max load, but the Dell should be able to slowly charge it up when you are using 70-80% of the CPU and maybe 2% of the GPU, while the anker would only be able to slowly charge it up when it is on standby.

So get the one Dell makes

Does not work with standard battery banks. The Dell power companion does exactly 65w.

Other powerbanks don't even work. I can confirm cause I used to run an XPS15 with a few power banks for shits. All day battery life (with 3 power banks LOL)

cant even use that one. You need the 18k mAH one for the XPS15. The 12k mAH (45w) is fine for XPS13.

The newegg one has the same model number as the one Dell recommended and is the 18k model, so Newegg has put up wrong information.

That won't be able to interface with the laptop most require an input of 19V, and most power banks won't be able to provide the necessary amperage to charge the laptop battery just try to sustain it for longer use.

I have tried a few different laptop powerbanks on my xps13. Unfortunately, I finally broke down and bought the dell branded one.  Its actually a great power bank! I have heard there are some USB C charging banks coming out soon that may work?!?!?!

Nope. Unless they are specified for 19.5V which some are. Not most though. For the XPS13 I'm not sure. I'm 100% sure you need the 19.5V specification to charge.

I have seen few as kickstarters that are designed for laptop charging over USB C. I believe the price will be comparable to the dell battery bank.

Hey about the XPS 13 9360, did Dell fully fix the coil whining issue?
