OK, So I am finally able to do a new build(vs. by-piece upgrading.) and would like some thoughts on my choices. below is the link to the build on PC-Part-Picker.

A quick note, my max budget is about 2000 US dollars.

any advice would be great,

notes:

1) I have extra storage that i will be bringing over from my current build.

2) I am will be using antec formula 7 TC

Personally i'd wait for ryzen to come out before building a rig of that caliber, other than that looks good :)

The funny thing is I was an AMD fanboy until 2015. (I even bought into the APU) I would have to wait for linus to do a benchmark first. and there is that other ailment i suffer from... i have no patients..lol.  thanks for the feedback. I will keep an eye on Rysen,

A good choice. However, I would recommend a 5820K with a Kraken X62.. The 5820K is faster than the 6800K when both are overclocked to their respective maxes....

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

Mice: Logitech G Pro X Superlight (main), Logitech G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, Zowie S1 Divina Blue, Zowie FK1-B Divina Blue, Logitech G Pro (3366 sensor), Glorious Model O, Razer Viper Mini, Logitech G305, Logitech G502, Logitech G402

Nah, most 5820Ks can reach 4.6GHz right now, while most 6800Ks are struggling to reach 4.3Ghz...

i did have one more question. pertaining to my ram...

seeing as my new board has 8 slots, does it matter if I go with 4 dims or 8 dims if the total ram amount (32gigs) is the same? or should i just go with the 4 dims and upgrade to 64gigs as time and money allows?

Wait 3-4 weeks for Ryzen, should get you an 8c/16t chip for around the same price hopefully

What's your display set up?

the 600p SSDs aren't really worth it

and I'd probably go for a Master Liquid 240 AIO

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

i'm currently using a LG 49"class 4k tv as my primary display. also what would you suggest instead of an intel 600p?

Radeon R3 for the lulz
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RZwqqs/amd-internal-hard-drive-r3480gb

Or a sandisk Ultra II, too bad Mushkin ECO3s are sold out everywhere, mostly just that either option is $40 cheaper for about the same amount of space
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JFJwrH/sandisk-internal-hard-drive-sdssdhii480gg25

The 600p isn't bad exactly, it's just not going to give you the speeds of a 960 pro or something, which most people don't need anyways, also M.2 SSDs can sometimes get pretty hot
https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Storage/Intel-SSD-600p-Series-256GB-Full-Review-Low-Cost-M2-NVMe/Conclusion-Pricing-and-Fina

Would also potentially suggest a cheaper GPU until Vega or the 1080ti come out for more proper 4k gaming
