Hey guys, si i've seen that some people have made transparent HDDs, so I wanted to make RGB transparent HDDs.

I also wanted to make the RGB syncable with the HDD usage.

What do you people think ?

It'd be super sketchy and it'd almost certainly die shortly after. Between dust getting in and not torquing things down to the exact manufacturer amounts, it's almost sure to die.

I wanna try... I've got old ATA hard drives that I want to kill. I'm gonna be really careful.

There's also the problem of there being not enough room for anything in the drive anyway.

Depending on the drive. I have a Seagate 160GB with a lot of bad sectors, so I took it apart.

I'm pretty sure the drive will throw a fit if it's missing platters.

No, mine still has plenty of room to the side of the read/write head.

The one part that is almost exclusively hidden away in a cage of some sort....why?

Makes less sense than Thermaltake's rgb psu. The risk outweighs the reward on an HDD intended to actually be used.

Thats not a problem, i'm gonna place it in the case so you can see it

Hey, that's pretty interesting, i've got a lot of old machines and I like this kind of stuff

Just look at my main PC...

Yeah, it's an old HP from my church. HP Cpmaq DX5150. Funny story, I just started to rebuild this machine today when I posted on your post and sitting next to me is the disassembled drive from that machine, the drive I mentioned a few minutes ago!
