Hi Guys,

I did a bit of research and found the following combination of parts for my white and black build.

It Should feature 1080p gaming capabilities (somehow near 75 fps to fully utilize freesync monitor) and a bit of multitasking (multiple chrome tabs,  ssh programs open. and large excel sheets for data analysis).

Not really in the image production business but would help if i can do light photoshop (pretty much a beginner) and inkscape.

I know Ryzen is near and I will most likely wait a bit more to see if I need to change the build or if the price of this build would lower. Anyways, this should be the current plan.

A z270 was chosen for the white looks and possibility to upgrade to a K cpu in the future. Also similar white non-z mobo are priced similarly so i chose this for the extra features it has (such as overclocking).

What do you guys think ? any suggestion or modifications I should consider.

Solid, but:

- 620W S12II is $50 at another retailer

- Z270 with locked proc?

- Also Kaby's extra high mobo prices isn't worth it, buy a Z170 mobo and update it with an older processor even if you want to upgrade in the future.

idk

Bit over, but it's a significantly better processor and you can OC.

You can alternatively get a cheap ATX H170 or H110 or B150 mobo and a locked 6700 and still be under.

idk

1. Good suggestion.

2. This is just temporary or for a good year or so and as I said similar white themed mobo are priced the same so i went with this one which can overclock. Also another point of me doing this is because currently I cannot afford the cooling needed for a K processor since liquid cooling is the way to go (hot country). I am also planning to upgrade when current K proc drops more in a yr or so.

3. Z270 and Z170 available right now near our area aren't really priced differently, just about 5-10 usd difference so might as well . HAHA.

Thats a good improvement. Unfortunately my friend, the available z170 mobo in my country are all about 120-140 usd. I think they are no longer exporting such low priced z170

Oh, then go for Z270. Where are you located? If 6700k is cheaper than 7700k by a good amount go for it.

idk

Would you care to elaborate? in my search i frequently see that rx 480 was not bottlenecked by rx 480.

well it depends on games you play, some are cpu dependent others are gpu. frames are more of a gpu thing in most part as the rx 480 is powerful for its price.

@purple_glacier  You could drop the expensive fans for now and grab a 16GB kit (2x8GB).  If you can survive with a single 240GB-275GB SSD, you can drop the 1TB HDD for now.  The savings from the fans and the HDD switch could be enough for the 16GB RAM kit.

Also... if fast RAM is the same price go 3000MHz+.

Thats a good suggestion.

Dropping the 1 TB HDD and getting a single 240 ssd just balances the savings with a extra expense (240 ss about 100 usd, 120 ssd and 1TB HDD about 100 usd)

But indeed the fans might really be an unnecessary expense. I was just worried of having negative pressure. I could perhaps use the 2 included fans (in case) for exhaust and intake.

Grab one or two cheap 120mm fans for like $5 to use for now.

Fast RAM does improve CPU performance when gaming... look for prices of 2800/3000/3200MHz kits.
