Stay away from them. Get something new from a reputable brand if you plan to use it for a long time and be reliable.

Avoid them, in general storage is not something to gamble on. If you get into something bad there have units which are undersized and sold as a larger a capacity, and will show up the correct amount but overwrite data as it gets written.

If I were you I'd just buy one used unless the prices are much lower and you're on a tight budget. SSDs have a limit to how much you can write and rewrite onto them so you don't really know how much it's been used until you get it. Another thing is that if it dies on you then you can usually just ask for a new one (if you bought it new). I'd recommend brands like crucial, ocz, sandisk, and hyperx.

Exactly, its a gamble. Just buy a cheap one from a good brand and be happy. Something like this for example: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820173150&cm_re=120gb_ssd-_-20-173-150-_-Product

Avoid the Sandisk SSD Plus, it's extremely slow. You can get a much faster SK Hynix SL308 for just a couple bucks more.

Well I didn't know that. I have an adata sp600 on my laptop which pretty much saturates SATA 3 and a SX8000 on my desktop. Good to know
