Installing MacOS on a macbook

Go to solution Solved by aeroencychris,

I'm assuming that he would have used Boot Camp to just dual-boot Windows ontop of MacOS. Entirely wiping Mac is a different process that is a lot more involved. Are you sure Mac isn't on there at all? Hold option while it boots to check if there's a Mac partition. If not, follow this guide.

Hello! A friend of mine is having trouble with his macbook. Apparently Windows 7 is installed on it (I don't know how it got there) and now he wants to get back to the stock OS. Since I'm no mac guy I have no idea how to handle this situation, so I hope you guys know what to do. I know there's alot of videos out there describing how you install macOS on a PC but I'm not sure if the process is the same on a macbook.

This is all the info I have at the moment, if there's anything specific you want to know just tell me and I'll ask him.

Thanks in advance <3

There is a online recovery, use that.

Yeah depending on the age of the macbook he can use the "apple" R command to boot directly into the internet recovery system. This will allow him to wipe windows 7 and instar a fresh version of OSX.
