Laptop can't run games

Hey! Kyle here,

So i moved to another country two weeks ago, and my main system is still being shipped, so i bought quite a decent laptop in the mean time so i could game on it.

One issue tho: It can't run games. I've already updated the graphics drivers, i did a new install of directx 12, and still i get error message 'couldnt initialize dx redist etc'
League of legends runs fine at 150fps, minecraft is running at 100 too, but i cant get any steam games to run whatsoever.

Any help appreciated!

It would be helpful to provide both the Make and Model, and a link to the exact laptop your purchased so we can lookup any potential issues that other people may or may not be having with it.

Also, when you say Steam games won't run, what do you mean?

Do they launch at all?

Do they crash after launching?

DirectX related errors should only really show up if related to dx9 stuff, since Windows 10 should have built-in support for dx12 out of the box. Games the require specialized versions should automagically install these prerequisites when you first launch them from Steam.

I'd be more surprised if it ran well, honestly. Sorry, I just don't think it has the horses.

Oops, read the title, made an assumption and then skimmed the post.

Try Dxdiag (just hit the Windows key and search for it)

Thats where i got my system info from^^
Notes state that there are no issues.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx%3Fid%3D35 Worked for people on Steam, it's the official web installer. Should patch up any missing files you have.

That was your error message, right?
