I'm building a new pc, and looking at £20-30 cases with a relatively clean look and a decent side panel. If i had a little more money (or could squeeze it into the budget) i could buy a case like the versa h15 or better. If i had even more, i would get the nzxt source 340. Is it worth trying to squeeze these into my budget just for aesthetics and (maybe) better radiator support? Also is it hard to upgrade your case to something nicer?

I was looking at this case https://www.cclonline.com/product/225388/CIT-DARKSTAR/Cases/CiT-Dark-Star-Midi-Tower-Case-with-120mm-Blue-LED-Rear-Fan-Side-Window-Black-/CAS2893/ but will the psu shroud cause issues with only 2 cable management holes? I would be using the corsair cx450m?

Welll performance of a case is a bit depending on quality and fans used. But if you replace bad fans with decent ones it can be ok. But don't expect the best sound dampening. Also quality of life aka ease of building in can be less optimal. No rubber grummets and holes or plates covering stuff. But it can suffice if you don't care about that and looks and are ok with the performance.

Corsair ahs several good ones, Be quiet silent wings seem to be good and ofcourse Noctua are in general cosidered great, but that might become a costly adventure.

There are three things I look for in a case, outside of the obvious compatibility issues.

1) Aesthetics. I want to enjoy looking at it from time to time.

2) Cable management. Making everything neat is easier for replacing or adding parts, improves airflow (although that may not be as important as once thought, based on a video Linus Tech Tips recently did), and just makes it look nicer overall my.

3) Front ports, especially USB ones. I want to he able to plug in multiple USB devices at any time without having to grope around the back.

If you're getting a cheap case, it's probably going to have bad cable management, so I don't recommend getting one with a window.

The 2 i looked at had 2 2.0 and 1 3.0 . One had a PSU shroud and the other had a huge bulge for cables http://www.aerocool.com.tw/us/chssis https://m.cclonline.com/product/225388/CIT-DARKSTAR/Cases/CiT-Dark-Star-Midi-Tower-Case-with-120mm-Blue-LED-Rear-Fan-Side-Window-Black-/CAS2893/ the second one looks better

The cable management isn't very good on that, and it only has two USB ports.  I know from experience that the cable management is excellent on this one though.  I used it in a build I made for a customer.  However, it does not have a 5.25" drive bay, so if you wanted a DVD drive it's not a good choice.

It's mostly plastic so the quality isn't so the quality isn't up to par with a $100 case, but it's still a great bargain.

The cable management isn't great on that according to reviews.  It wouldn't matter so much if it didn't have a giant window.

im buying a modular psu, would that help?

Some, but you're still going to have some trouble tucking wires away because of the lack of space behind the motherboard.  Could you post a link to your PCPartPicker list?  Seeing what components you have would really help.  If you haven't picked everything else out, you can fill in a temporary part.  Just mention it.

Thanks.  What was the wrong with the DIYPC one I posted earlier?  I'm not trying to push the case on you, I just want to know what you don't like so I can filter some stuff out.

its kindof ugly. I like sleek simple (black, white etc) cases with a square ish window like the source 340. I would stick a nice top down 120mm heatsink with a blue or white sp120 and a led strip.

Take a look at these:

They all have good cable management and I think meet your heatsink needs.  To be honest, a stock heatsink would work fine for your CPU anyway.  Just make sure you use decent thermal paste instead of the pads they include.

Well do any of those cases look good to you, or was I off on what you want?
