Windows 10 refuses to update

Basically, Windows 10 will not update to Anniversary Edition. I have tried every method that I can think of, including the built in updater in settings, the windows media creation tool, the windows 10 upgrade tool, yea.... It refuses to update. I always get some kind of an error message. Microsoft support isn't helping me at all, the people there just keep trying things that don't work. Any suggestions for how I can get the freaking anniversary edition on my computer?

Any ideas without wiping my system? It would be extremely tedious to reinstall and move all my sh*t...

It's the best way to do it, especially if you upgraded to 10 instead of clean installing.

Well, not partitions on other drive, but on my boot drive, yes.

Ok that's really weird then.

Try sfc /scannow in admin CMD.

Welp that sucks. The only thing I would do at this point is just clean install...

Clearly something got screwed up in your software :/

You my friend are the first I know of to report this phenomenon and I assure you there are those that worship you at the very moment (but I am not one of those)

My advice is to clean install your OS.

does the updater say it can't connect to the update servers

if so thats a problem that many people have had over many computers

i don't know why but the update servers have been failing to provide updates to certain systems

microsoft is trying to fix it but it might be a while

in the mean time keep the system off and check for updates on a different machine until it has connected to the update servers

if it has try with your current system and see if it can connect and update

****SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH IT'S REALLY TERRIBLE*****

Been married to my wife for 3 years now! Yay!
