SO my wholeeeee F@#@ing family is using the internet i cant do anytign about it

 

tried getting a a 3g-4g plan for my phone and using it!!!!

 

but the service is poop

 

so i want to know a way i can play overwatch WITHOUT 2000 PING evrytime

 

is controlling the bandwidth the solution?

 

please help!

Get better internet, or use Ethernet.

controlling the bandwith is a way of controlling who has priority in network on bandwith side. if you want you can get better internet by setting up the router so that it prioritizes your connection above all else. Google QOS.

A good router might help. They are expensive BUT they can prioritize your gaming session so your ping stays low and stable even if the connection gets completely saturated by your family.

A "good router" wont help if he has crap internet speeds... no difference at all.

Ran into this problem when I got myself and my girlfriend a Netflix plan, our 17mb line just was not enough for her to be on Netflix streaming, and me to be on fps games and hoping for a good ping, in the end we went with a new broadband plan which starts on the 15th.

Well yea true but then there would be issues all the time regardless of the load.

Also, for online gaming you don't need a fast connection, you need a stable one.

 

If you have like a 4mbps connection that's solid AF it's perfectly possible to have a good gaming experience while having a 100mbps connection that's all over the place is not going to give you a good experience at all.

 

When i'm playing online it's usually a constant stream between 10 and 50 KB/s which is nothing even if you only have 4mbps or whatever.
