R9 280x it costs a tad bit more

 

 

Spend 40$ more and get a 280x

Like these people said spend 40 dollars more and get a 280x or a 7970

I agree, The ASUS GTX 760 DirectCUII OC is $259 and it is insane. I can max out every game I play and easily get 60 FPS. If you want to go the AMD route I hear the ASUS R9 280X is pretty beast. 

(I'm only recommending ASUS because thats all i've ever used)

Get a Radeon R9 280X and go with either Asus, MSI, Sapphire, Gigabyte, or HIS aftermarket cooler models.

please dont do this... 7970 or a 280x is much more powerful than this...  and the extra 30 -40 is very worth it. but i think you will be able to find a 7970 which is the same as a 280x for less than 300 if you look around for sales.
