Laptop, pre-build pc or custom build pc??

Hi everyone,

What should I take, a laptop, a pre-build pc or a custom build pc??

I have a budget around $600 for a pc WITHOUT a monitor and around $750 for a laptop.

I want to game and doing work for my school.

I want to play GTA 5.

I hope I can get some great information or recommendations.

I'm one of the firm believers that Gaming laptops are horrible and no one in the right mind should ever get one for college/University.

Don't buy a gaming laptop, its not worth it. You pay a lot more for a lot less value out of it. With a PC you could always find ways to do something like a mini-itx build if size is an issue.

I own a gaming laptop right now as I am in AIT (its where I get trained to do my job in the Army) and I regret buying it.

I would go custom build, I also own a Gaming Laptop, I don't regret buying it, at the time I needed a mobile solution and it provided great, but now my circumstances have changed and I'm trying to sell it to get a regular laptop for school and build a custom one for gaming.
