Opera vs Chrome

I'd say give it a shot. It's hard for others to tell you which one is the best, its personal preferences that counts. I can say I'm a happy user of Opera xD

Opera tries to do more with Chromium than Google. It's certainly worth giving it a shot.

If you've never tried Opera before it switch to Chromium, then you won't have the issue with it completely changing and removing many features that made it "unique". Though it did add a few new features now, like built in VPN(more like a proxy in this case) and I believe an adblocker?

 

But personally, as I used Opera before it switch to Chromium, it just doesn't do it for me anymore, especially the removal of bookmarks and the sidepanels that made things so much easier. Wanted to open a bookmark? Click on the entire side of the screen and have the side panel open up, allowing quick and easy access to the bookmarks, instead of some tiny button in the corner that is easy to miss...

 

Thankfully, a new browser came around and saved the day, Vivaldi. Which has both a "stable" branch which is updated like once every few months and a "snapshot" branch that is regularly updated, fixing bug and adding new features.

It's also based on Chromium(and support the same extensions as Chrome), but it has most of the features the Opera of old used to have, like side panels, actual bookmarks(did Opera add that back in yet? Or is it just the bookmark bar and that's it, still?), taking notes right from the browser, mouse gestures, web panels and more.

Opera is built off chrome yet they still manage to make it 90% more efficient and with cooler features like built in ad blocker, vpn, and battery saver mode which helps extend battery life by about 20% or more
