Hey dudes and lady dudes,

iv had my cpu at 4.7 for 18 months now :)

was concidering ocing the cache because why not ? 

 

But i I have no idea how to or what I'm doing so I need help 

 

what kind of improvements can this bring ?

 

and is it even worth it ?

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

Don't think ocing the cpu cache brings any benefits. The amount of cache is really small and it only contains very oftenly used things like IP-Adresses. No programm will be stored in there (even when being used). Unless you want to store your IP-Adresses a  very miniscule amount of time faster, go for it.

Really I thought it did more than that ?

I wouldn't bother with it too much. Most boards compensate for the multiplier and unless you're getting instability, I wound't touch the cache.

it does a bit more then that but its not going to bring you anything major in the ways of preformance

 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

In my experiements with cache speeds I found diminishing returns after 4.0GHz. Not worth the instability.
