First pc build

Go to solution Solved by iRileyx,

You need an X99 motherboard to go with that cpu.

a 1060 paired with a 6800k seems a little silly.

Also for future reference, use pcpartpicker.com to make your build, it'll tell you if theres any incompatibilities so you can solve them yourself.

For the love of Gaben, please use PCPartPicker next time. Anyways, everything is compatible.

EDIT: Derp, you need an X99 board for a 6800K.

You should try the Z270 platform since it has better OC support and works great paired with that I7 6800k which has GREAT OC capabilities.

What? You're wrong at everything here :P

Z270 works with LGA 1151 while the 6800K is LGA 2011 v3, it also doesn't have GREAT OC capabilities. It's a 6-core CPU and those 6-cores don't overclock as high as 4-cored i7s

PLS dont spread misinformation

i7 6800k is socket 2011-v3

z270 uses socket 1151

these are different sockets and DONT work together

It was my mistake! I misread 6800k and thought about a 6700k instead.

I am sorry for that.
