So, I've been relatively trapped on iPhone for the past 6 years and I'm looking to switch to Android. I mostly use my phone for simple reminders, calls, texting, and email, but I also play a few games, take photos for work, and track calories on it. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could look at?

I'd wait. MWC is only a few weeks away and we'll see quite a few new phones coming out, likely some that might interest you.

Right now you're basically at the tail end of the current generation of pretty much every phone.

@GeorgeBushDid911 You're quite the twat. Reported.

Worth noting that the Mi Mix might not work where he lives, and the P9 is being replaced in a few weeks with the P10.

Hopefully with a much better video solution.

The Mix is far too large for my tastes, but I'll look into the Huawei P9. What would the cyanogen mod do for me?

good bye to chinese spying (the only thing i really dislike about chinese phones) and get you normal android instead of modified chinese android - make sure to install gapps (google play service package) too

Yeah I've seen the rumors. We'll have to wait and see I guess. I mean, the Mate9 is only $599. I can't see the P10 Plus being more than that. It's likely just false info. Huawei is making some seriously impressive devices.

I can probably wait until mid-March at the latest, my current phone hasn't been doing great lately. Either way, there will always be appealing new tech, I'm fine with being a generation or 2 behind.

Axon 7 all the way, has flagship specs at a $400 pricepoint. I've been loving mine on Verizon. AMA if you have specific questions about it.

Doesn't look bad, I'll throw it into consideration. How does it handle standard phone work (calls, texts, etc.)?

Not entirely. It's probably an older train of though, but there were some smartphones that sucked at holding a call, which is my main use for a phone.

There pretty much all the same now unless you value vocal clrity

Definitely nice, but they haven't come out with a proper flagship in ages. They also seem to be missing a great deal of NA bands, or are lacking in certain areas...though that again is their lack of a proper flagship. Apparently this year the Find 9 is finally going to come out. About time. It's been 3 years.

They are, unfortunately, generally overpriced compared to other phones on the market.

I think a lot of phones are coming out beginning of April. The LG G6 might be worth waiting for?

Not a whole lot is known about it, but so far it looks quite the beast.

The OnePlus 3T is also a good choice.
