Hello, new to the site" but watch Linus Tech Tips all the time, and looking for some help.

 

I picked up a PC  from I buy power.

So with the specs out of the way, I was getting up to 81c° on my CPU.

I was playing Rainbow Sic Siege, at ultra/ very high graphics, and recording with shadow play. Shadow play settings, Resolution 2160P 4k, 60 fps, 130Mbps.

Looked over the CPU information @  https://ark.intel.com/products/97129/Intel-Core-i7-7700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_50-GHz.    T junction  @ 100 c°.

To me 80c° is very high, Just looking for more insight for this type of issue/problem.

Read into motherboard "auto" voltage.

The motherboard settings.. if untouched by you. Are on auto leading to sometimes getting a cpu voltage higher than you need to actually use for 100% stability.

 

Either ramping fan curves or tuning cpu voltage will reduce temp.

 

Sounds hot, but all reviewers said similar. Its a hot chip.

 

 

But.. not withstanding you could have an underlying issue I leave it to the gurus here who own such hardware to answer you in more details as Im not on 7000 series with my CPU and would just be reiterating what I read.

If you got your PC from iBuyPower then why don't you contact them... Kabylake runs hot, so they may need to delid the CPU for you (To fix that issue)

The CPUVID is 1.25 but thats not what the CPU would run at. Thats like a "rated vcore" marker for the current multiplyer. The old program coretemp would show this variation.

 

OP needs to look at his vcore value under load or stress at it even might fluctuate a bit high if his mobo is set to "auto" configure.

His CPU VCORE idle load voltage is listed near the top but its of no use for finding what's causing high temps.

What is your in and out airflow system consist of in your case layout wise?

Ok, I need a better way to record the temp's/ Volt, I'm unable to save the file when it peaks out.... but this is the main numbers...

I don't get why even the GPU is getting up to 80C °  The room is around 69-70 F°... and the case is out away from anything sitting on top of a roll away cabinet. Was unable to get a shot of the Cpu's going over 80, but you can see the max is up to 85°
