Psu is overkill. A decent 650w will do for a 760 sli.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

Watch out ! we have a badass over here ! somoene who game's at his school B) just kidding dude ... U made a good point there but what if you combine a quadro and a GTX ? of course u can't sli them but u can use the quadro for cuda acceleration :)

to be honest I also thought about this. But I'm gonna Research for a decent silent replace for the 760, like a 770 or 780. Does anybody know who has the Most silent Version from those?

Concerning my RAM Motherboard question. Any help at this point?

Asus DCU II and Gigabyte Windforce are the quietest.

Thank you very much. What about the Msi twinfrozr 780? Thought that was the Most silent?

Twin Frozr is very quiet as well--not the quietest though.

Hi

I think @Tabularas mentioned he/she wants to add later more RAM => the suggested mobo does only offer 4 RAM slots, or?

about your Asus X79-Deluxe question (not to confuse with the p9X79 Deluxe!!!!):

=> can handle the Ivy-E without a BIOS flash thingie, has 12 SATA II and III connectors, a Marvel controller that is able to combine 2 lanes => is able to RAID 0 and 1 and I think 10 too in a bit better way as it seems to be with other non-Intel controllers and I think I've read the sound chip might be better as its usus at mobo's... there is a possibility at the Asus website to compare mobo's, you might try that?

In the hope my mainly self-trained English is understandable (btw, also German)

Wow already new feedback. Thank's guys.

At work I'm already working with a HP Z400 Workstation (Xeon W3670 3.2 GHz & a Quadro 4000). The sound of this machine is annoying. I know it's because of HP but I want a more silent Workstation at home.

Currently I'm not interested in fully water-cooling this PC (maybe later). At least I've selected the Corsair H100i as a start. Additionally the Noctua-fans should help on this purpose.

The MSI GTX760 OC Twin Frozr was also chosen because from my research it is the most silent GTX available. I do not know if there is a similar 770GTX 4GB version.

The Asus X79 Deluxe has just additional WiFi or am I wrong?

My only fear is that the RAM is not compatible with the Motherboard (cannot find anything on the manual on www.asus.com). Especially when I later whant to upgrade to full 64 GB. Does anybody know more about this??

Just know that if you get a last gen x79 motherboard (anything other than evga dark, x79 deluxe, rampage black edition, you'll have to update the bios before you'll be able to post with the 4930k. All the asus boards have a usb bios flashback but just keep that in mind.

The Rampage IV Gene has 4 ram slots--2 on each side of the cpu socket.

Exactly, so when he wants to update from now 32GB to later 64GB (as he mentioned e.g. here)

By the time he needs more than 32GB ram, we'll probably be using DDR4 ram.
