you are very wrong. There are enterprise, home, education, and pro editions

you need a VL account. to purchase through VL you need to buy at least 5 items, you can find something cheap like the win 8 media license to fill your order up to 5. CDW is quite popular in the USA to buy VL

nope, sometimes you can get it though schools for free(well you get edu, but its the same thing, just without ltsb).

 

You can run it unactivated, with alsmost not limiatations(watermark + can't change desktop pic.

There is no differences between Enterprise and Pro (ok they are, but nothing that you will ever use, most likely)

Enterprise is a yearly subscription. It targets medium and large companies. Pro target home and small businesses.

I also believe that you need Windows Server as well and have the computer joined into the domain hosted by Windows Server for activation of your volume license.
